Sumario:The international stage is currently undergoing a period of historical-geopolitical transition, with the rise of new centers of power. China, under the assertive foreign policy of Xi Jinping, has positioned itself as one of the most significant emerging poles, challenging the hegemony of the Atlantic axis led by the United States. In this context, MERCOSUR is not unaffected, as it maintains China as one of its primary trading partners. The following work aims to analyze the absence of a MERCOSUR foreign policy towards China. Firstly, a review of the bilateral relations between the member states of the bloc and the Asian giant will be conducted. Secondly, precedents from other cooperation mechanisms and integration blocs will be analyzed to assess the feasibility of a coordinated foreign policy. Finally, the opportunities and challenges of a MERCOSUR foreign policy towards China will be evaluated
