As consequence, children and adolescents continue to disappear throughout the years and are unable to be reunited with their families due to the State?s inability to investigate what happened. This work is intended to inquire into International Human Rights Law to find an answer to the reality of those children and adolescents who disappear. Las razones pueden ser muy diferentes: fuga, extravío, secuestro o diversos delitos. Sin embargo, el accionar de las autoridades usualmente se ve demorado y las medidas que se toman resultan ser inadecuadas e insuficientes para dar con su paradero. El resultado son niños, niñas y adolescentes que a lo largo de los años continúan desaparecidos y sin poder reencontrarse con sus familias a causa de la incapacidad de Estado para investigar lo sucedido. El presente trabajo se propone indagar en el Derecho Internacional de los Derechos Humanos para encontrar una respuesta para la realidad de aquellos niños, niñas y adolescentes que desaparecen.
