The editions of Aldo Manuzio and Nicolas Jenson are models of this kind of books and their attributes represent a starting point for design studies such as ergonomics and readability in textbooks. This work aims to appreciate some of these qualities, through the design of a typeface and a book collection focused on Latin American culture. It seeks to study historical features in typography and relate them to current ones in order to recognize constants and variables. Las ediciones de Aldo Manuzio y Nicolas Jenson son modelos de este tipo de libros y sus características representan un punto de partida para estudiar el diseño, la ergonomía y la legibilidad en los libros de texto. El trabajo pretende valorizar algunas de estas cualidades, por medio de la creación de una fuente tipográfica y el diseño de una colección de libros centrada en la cultura hispanoamericana. Se busca estudiar las cualidades tipográficas históricas y relacionarlas con las actuales con el fin de reconocer constantes y variables.
