Sumario:The Paraná River was a relevant factor in the location of the population and the development of its activities, but it was also an obstacle in communications and a means of penetration in times of the conquest. In the last decades it began to be seen as a transportation corridor for the acceleration of the extraction of resources for the global economy. Thus, on the waterway, port activities were reconfigured with the establishment of large terminals where multiple functions are performed, from storage through processing to export. These terminals make up an outstanding soybean processing cluster in the north of the Rosario Metropolitan Area, in Puerto General San Martín and in San Lorenzo. Togheter with the waterway, the new port activities and the change in their scale, territorial transformations have been generated both at the regional level and in the local áreas, crossed by the new dynamics that this project prints, in a space that appears as a scenario of socio-territorial conflicts derived from the dynamics of the capitalist system. This is manifested in a context of asymmetric relationships and unequal development, where conflicts are the result of the actions of actors operating with diverse interests and capacities to print their demands. For this reason, this research set out to analyze the emergence and the management of transport corridor projects that account for the production of the territory on a global, national and local scale. To this end, processes, places and actors were questioned, and strategies and interests related to very different scales behind the transformation of the territory were examined. The manifestations of global processes in the local territories linked to the Paraná-Paraguay waterway axis (in Puerto General San Marín and in San Lorenzo) were analyzed. For this purpose, the analysis of the transformations of the global economy at the local was investigated: at the political level (which actions are carried out, which actors participate), at the economic level (global flows on the local level, overlaping with local flows) at the spatial material level (territorial deployment) and at the social, demographic and housing level. The work is divided into five parts. In the first one, the problem that motivated the work is presented, then the relation of Transport in the production of the territory is analyzed. Subsequently, the image of the territory thought in relation to global dynamics and plans for the territories, is recovered. The fourth part analyzes the territory produced (or being produced) in both cases. Finally, it is reflected on the manifestations of these global processes in the organization of the territory, in the local economy, in management and in the environment. Phenomena of different scales converge in the analyzed territory. The port cities analyzed are structured as anchorage places for globalized flows. They constitute a fraction of globality, a synthesis of interrelations, of complementary and contradictory processes between the global and the local, which come into play in the production of the territory.
