Sumario:Abstract: The instant study entails a comparative analysis of the translation work carried out by two renowned Argentine authors and translators: Jorge Luis Borges and Rodolfo Walsh, in order to detect similarities and differences in the way they address the task of translating from English into Spanish two literary works from diverse literary categories. The study resorts to some key concepts developed by relevant scholars in the field of translation theory, such as fidelity and equivalence. The method for the analysis consisted in reviewing a corpus composed of parts selected from the source and target texts of the works translated by both authors, and their assessment on the basis of context, reference and linguistic elements. The result of the analysis will lead us to establish the presence of various translation paradigms in each translation work and we will try to discover a place in common in the way each author addresses the translation task.
