It also considers the rights of children and adolescents in the context of social and economic vulnerability. The methodology is quantitative, as we review the data obtained from the child labor module included in the 2015 National Survey of Occupation and Employment. The conclusion is that children in Chiapas work for two main reasons: first, that households, as productive economic units, use children as a central actor of their workforce resources; second, because household incomes are insufficient to cover personal expenses and school fees. Gómez. -- Resumen: El presente artículo tiene como propósito central describir los motivos por los que trabajan los niños y niñas ocupados en el estado de Chiapas, entidad con los más altos niveles de marginación a nivel nacional. Se busca generar una reflexión desde la perspectiva de las unidades domésticas como oferentes de fuerza de trabajo y al mismo tiempo como el espacio en que se concreta, organiza y materializa el trabajo de niños y niñas, así como reflexionar sobre los derechos de las niñas, los niños y las(os) adolescentes en un contexto de vulnerabilidad económica y social. La metodología utilizada es cuantitativa, pues se revisan los datos arrojados por el Módulo de Trabajo Infantil incluido en la Encuesta Nacional de Ocupación y Empleo 2015.
