Perhaps this is a defense mechanism generated by the social body to differentiate itself from those who create discomfort through their actions. In addition, there is a belief that there are different types of victims. There are victims who are perfect, untainted, who are not subject to reproof and have committed no "sins" that might obscure the memories we have of them; whereas other victims, whom we shall call "enticing" and who have met their fate as a consequence of their immoral conduct, their dress habits, their questionable friends, the social group they belong to, or their behavioral patterns. This essay attempts to prove that the construction of victims and perpetrators is largely due to descriptions employed by mass media, unhesitatingly labeling murdered women as either "angels" or "young women who neither work nor study and who go out at night with multiple men". Gómez. --Resumen: Uno de los principales mitos que giran en torno a la violencia de género es aquel que considera al victimario como un enfermo, un monstruo, alguien que se encuentra fuera del tejido social, que le es ajeno al resto de la comunidad, quizás como un mecanismo de defensa que se genera en el cuerpo social para diferenciarse de aquel que genera incomodidad por su obrar. A esta creencia se suma aquella que sostiene que hay víctimas y víctimas. Víctimas que son perfectas, sin manchas, sin recriminaciones que hacerles, sin "pecado" que manche su memoria y que conviven con otras víctimas, a las que llamaremos "propiciatorias", que se buscaron su destino ya sea por su conducta contraria a la moral, por su forma de vestir o sus compañías, por pertenecer a determinado grupo social o por tener determinados hábitos de conducta.
