Ideally, the first step would be to identify the role of the Thesis Director and recognize the different kinds of relations that can emerge from the interaction between him and the thesis student writer. This is the starting point from which the profile of a "good Thesis Director" could be defined, composed of certain characteristics, both objective and subjective. Nevertheless, in the present work, the author deals with the subject in a different way, as if these general basic aspects are already known by readers. The author gives practical advice to the Dissertation writers, although at the same time he states that they should be careful when applying it, for they will be the ones who prejudice or benefit from them. The article also features the answers he usually gives to most frequently asked questions. In advance, it can be said the path begins by knowing the regulation currently in force and verifying that the possible Director meets the requirements formally established, so as to undertake the analysis of significant factors. Lo ideal sería comenzar por identificar y jerarquizar las funciones de un director de tesis y reconocer las modalidades de las relaciones tesista-director. A partir de allí se puede definir un perfil del "buen director de tesis", compuesto por determinadas características, tanto objetivas como subjetivas. Sin embargo, en el documento no se expone el tema de ese modo. Más bien se dan por conocidos y entendidos esos aspectos generales básicos. Con enfoque práctico, el autor se pone a dar consejos a los tesistas. Pero con una advertencia previa: cuidarse de los consejos. Quien se beneficia o perjudica es quien los aplica, no quien los da. El contenido del documento son las respuestas que el autor suele dar a las consultas puntuales más frecuentes.
