In Argentina since the 90s the above subject is of concern to educational researchers. However, attempts to unravel the nature of this relationship are far from admitting some kind of conclusion, and even the starting assumptions and postulates are agreed. This is the topic that, as part of research aimed to study higher education, attempts to stop the look on how they occur and the two activities constitute the central and university teaching and research: how they relate, are added, enrich, complement, overlap, oppose, compete and tense, and how actors are assumed by academics and by the institutions themselves. La Plata, Argentina Argentina Orler, José 2012 Existe una amplia literatura internacional que problematiza la cuestión referida a la relación docencia-investigación multiplicando enfoques y abordajes, desde los años 70. En Argentina, a partir de la década del 90, el mencionado tema viene preocupando a los investigadores educativos. Sin embargo, los intentos por desentrañar la naturaleza de esta relación se hallan lejos de admitir algún tipo de conclusión, y ni siquiera los presupuestos y postulados de partida resultan consensuados. Se trata del tópico que -en el marco de las investigaciones que tienen por objeto de estudio a la Educación Superior- intenta detener la mirada sobre el modo en que ocurren y concurren las dos actividades centrales y constitutivas de la Universidad -docencia e investigación-: cómo se relacionan -se añaden, se enriquecen, se complementan, se superponen, se oponen, compiten y se tensan- y cómo son asumidas por los actores académicos y por las propias instituciones.
