We base our analysis on the systemic paradigm, which means that theorization on the State implies studying it from its context, on the understanding that reality is dynamic, changeable, diverging and holistic, and that it needs an interdisciplinary approach. Within this framework, we set out to point out the differences and the points of contact between Theory of the State and Political Science, Political Law and Political Philosophy. In addition, we will highlight the traits of curriculum organization based on the minimum content for courses and the object proper of Theory of the State taking into account the syllabus currently followed by the different chairs teaching Theory of the State at the Universidad de Buenos Aires School of Law. Es así como las palabras teoría, ciencia, política, filosofía, Estado o derecho político han sido y son definidas de manera disímil, conforme a la época y a la valoración de los autores".--El propósito de este trabajo es analizar los diferentes presupuestos a partir de los cuales puede entenderse el objeto de estudio de la Teoría del Estado. Partiendo del paradigma sistémico, se sostiene que la teorización sobre el Estado implica su estudio a partir del contexto, entendiendo que la realidad es dinámica, cambiante, divergente y holística y que necesita ser abordada interdisciplinariamente. En este marco, se propone marcar las diferencias y puntos de contacto de la Teoría del Estado con la Ciencia Política, el Derecho Político y la Filosofía Política.
