Sumario:This article presents a perspective on the role of legal education in promoting gender equality, both from the theoretical approach from which is taught the Law, as of the hidden curriculum that is transmitted in the dynamics and practice of the Law faculties, inside and outside the classroom. The paper presents the normative development of the concept of gender equality in Mexico and offers a panorama to incorporate feminist theories and gender perspective into law education. Likewise, the paper presents the case of a law school in a private university in western Mexico, with the purpose of sharing experiences in the promotion of gender equality in the university, academic and educational context. Finally, the paper highlights the main challenges for the participation of women in the disciplinary field, in the teaching of law and in the transformation of institutional life in the university context. The work is developed through a qualitative methodology, which combines documentary research, through the consultation of sources on bibliographic information, and empirical, through participant observation and interviews with members of the university community for the draft of the case study.
