| Sumario: | The recent acts of violence in our country, popularly known as "lynchings", show the valuable role of the constitutional State of law in a society. Criminality and the citizenship's perception of the State?s failure as the advocate of safety have grown exponentially in the last decade. Although it seems like a contradiction to inquire about the possibility of finding judicial justification for a person that decides to "lynch" another one who has allegedly committed a crime, it is true that the public debate aroused by this attacks urges us to address this matter. It's imperative to act with more social responsibility that the one already displayed, noticing the danger of these acts for the society as a whole. In any case, we should urge the State to accomplish its responsibility to guarantee public safety to the citizenship as stressed by the Constitution |
