The data was obtained from the School’s programs and critical literature. The results obtained allow us to know the context behind the School’s foundation, the reasons for not imitating the plans of the United State of America or France, and the critics made by the library field. This analysis concludes with a reflection on the need to continue studying this period. Con el objetivo de entender la fundación en 1922 de la Escuela de Archivistas, Bibliotecarios y Técnicos para el servicio de Museos de la Universidad de Buenos Aires durante el decanato de Ricardo Rojas, se realiza un estudio exploratorio de su primer plan de estudios (1923-1927). Los datos se obtienen a partir de los programas de la Facultad y literatura crítica. Los resultados obtenidos permiten conocer el contexto detrás de la construcción de dicha Escuela, las razones para no imitar el plan de Estados Unidos o Francia, y las críticas que tuvo por parte del campo bibliotecario.
