Sumario:The article examines the links between work and childcare with the aim of analyzing, from an intersectional perspective, the power relations formed around care in a jeans factory, looking into the strategies and feelings involved in its organization. Our hypothesis suggests that care functions as a vector of social differentiation, and reinforces both the gender inequalities present in the heterosexual marriage bond and the intra-gender class inequalities among the women of the factory. We carried out a case study and adopted a historical-ethnographic approach focused on analyzing the actors’ meanings and practices t and on reconstructing the contexts with which they dialogue.
