Our hypothesis suggests that care functions as a vector of social differentiation, and reinforces both the gender inequalities present in the heterosexual marriage bond and the intra-gender class inequalities among the women of the factory. We carried out a case study and adopted a historical-ethnographic approach focused on analyzing the actors’ meanings and practices t and on reconstructing the contexts with which they dialogue. El artículo trata sobre los vínculos entre el trabajo y el cuidado de hijos/as. Su objetivo radica en analizar desde una mirada interseccional las relaciones de poder que se conforman en torno al cuidado en una fábrica de jeans, a partir de las estrategias y de los sentimientos implicados en su organización. Nuestra hipótesis sugiere que el cuidado actúa como un vector de diferenciación social y refuerza tanto las desigualdades de género presentes en el vínculo matrimonial heterosexual como las desigualdades de clase intragénero presentes entre las mujeres de la fábrica analizada. Para esto realizamos un estudio de caso y adoptamos un enfoque histórico-etnográfico centrado en el análisis de los significados y las prácticas que desenvuelven los/as actores/as y en la reconstrucción de los contextos con los que dialogan. O artigo trata das ligações entre o trabalho e o cuidado infantil. Seu objetivo é analisar desde uma perspectiva interseccional as relações de poder que se formam em torno do cuidado em uma fábrica de calças jeans, a partir das estratégias e sentimentos envolvidos na sua organização. Nossa hipótese sugere que o cuidado atua como vetor de diferenciação social e reforça tanto as desigualdades de gênero presentes no vínculo matrimonial heterossexual quanto as desigualdades intra-gênero de classe presentes entre as mulheres da própria fábrica.
