She speculates on the probable causes of this gap and describes the obstacles that may hinder the mentorship activity. Finally, it identifies the absence of institutions (universities and professional associations) of this type in Argentina and ventures a macro-explanation which account for this problem. En este trabajo la autora reflexiona sobre el proceso de orientación de quienes se inician en una profesión mediante la guía personal de un consejero, a través de la transferencia de su propia experiencia y conocimientos. Luego de presentar ese proceso en general, se trabaja sobre la terminología en español donde se carece de términos adecuados para denominar tanto a los involucrados como al proceso. Se especula sobre las causas probables de esta carencia y se describen los obstáculos que pueden dificultar el proceso.
