This action reflects the development of argentine culture and thought of the moment. Besides that, the movement of Independent Theatre emerged from Teatro del Pueblo. Barletta's theatre occupied different venues until its closure with the death of its director in 1975 and has always been oriented in all respects by his figure. Among the factors that led to the closure of Teatro del Pueblo are the personal leadership of Barletta and the evidence that both aesthetic and ideological remanence to which they had arrived. We will develop an intellectual journey of the Independent Theatre with the ultimate goal of interpreting the symbolic space that the classical left occupied in the theatre field at mid-sixties, as well as the theatrical tradition of some emerging figures in the decade. El 30 de noviembre de 1930 Leónidas Barletta, un intelectual vinculado al PC (Partido Comunista), funda el Teatro del Pueblo. Este acto opera como expresión consolidada de un desarrollo cultural y del pensamiento que se vivía en el país, y alrededor del cual comenzará a expresarse el movimiento de Teatro Independiente. El Teatro del Pueblo funcionó en diversas salas hasta su cierre con la muerte de Barletta en 1975 y estuvo orientado en todo sentido por la figura de su director. Entre los factores que llevaron al cierre del Teatro del Pueblo se encuentran el liderazgo personal de Barletta y la evidencia de la remanencia tanto estética como ideológica a la que habían arribado.
