In the case of heroes, rewritings of parts of the history that can be controversial occur. This research tries to review of the idea of historical hero and the forms it takes on Chilean theatre, particularly in the play Prat (2002) by Manuela Infante. Consequently, how this play works with the ideas of history and hero is researched, founding a new space from rewriting of tradition. Al poner en escena figuras heroicas, se produce una interesante tensión entre el discurso literario teatral y el discurso histórico, supuestamente objetivo e intocable, lo que deriva en una exigencia impuesta a la literatura de ser lo más fiel posible a dicha forma de historia. En el caso de los héroes se producen reescrituras de escenas de la historia que pueden parecer controversiales. Este trabajo pretende revisar la idea del héroe histórico y sus formas en la escena teatral chilena, específicamente en la obra Prat (2002) de Manuela Infante.
