The art-science bond, and especially the theatre-science one, has been under-studied from the epistemological point of view, meaning by this which knowledges and perspectives on life and nature (lebenswelt, in Husserl's words) provided by science have contributed to the development of the performing arts. Here we will briefly look into Grotowski's case, at least in the first phase of his creative life, before he adopted more mystical and ritual roads. Uno de los grandes íconos del teatro del siglo XX es Jerzy Grotowski. En este artículo se analiza el discurso de Hacia un teatro pobre desde las teorías de Van Dijk y el concepto de noosfera de Edgar Morin, con el objetivo de analizar la importancia que la ciencia tuvo para este director teatral polaco. El lazo arte-ciencia, y en especial el de teatro-ciencia ha sido poco estudiado desde la perspectiva epistemológica, es decir, qué conocimientos y posturas ante la naturaleza y la vida (lebenswelt, en palabras de Husserl) han aportado las ciencias para el desarrollo de las artes escénicas.
