Sumario:The following essay wishes to draw attention to the dramatic production of the Chilean author María Asunción Requena (1916), reassessing her role in the national theater scene in the second half of the twentieth century, particularly regarding her work of historical and folkloric revaluation. The center of the analysis is the piece Chiloé, cielos cubiertos (1971), with special attention to the role of women and the topic of travelling, in both its physical and symbolic meanings.
