El ensayo que sigue a continuación desea llamar la atención sobre la producción dramática de la autora chilena María Asunción Requena (1916-1986), enfocando su papel protagonista en el panorama teatral nacional de la segunda mitad del siglo XX, en particular por lo que concierne la labor de revaluación histórica y folklórica desarrollada por la autora.
