However, its merits are not solely of cultural and historical character. In this article, we analyze this booklet by a re-examination of its structure. The study of its structure –its textual level along with the different levels of articulation (material-thematic-argumental)– leads to two assertions. First, that “De Grammatico” presents an impeccable Logic and Linguistic treatment of the relations between Natural language and Philosophical language by performing a reinterpretation of the famous first chapter of Aristotelian Categories. Second, that Anselm advances beyond the logic linguistic ground by demanding a contextualization of it. And this cognitive movement, we consider, anticipates the re-evaluation of experience that would start, almost two centuries later, with the introduction of the Aristotelian naturalism. El “De Grammatico” de Anselmo de Canterbury es una obra que nos permite entender la introducción de las Categorías de Aristóteles en el pensamiento occidental. Sin embargo, sus méritos no son sólo de carácter cultural e histórico. En este artículo, analizamos este libro mediante un reexamen de su estructura. El estudio de su estructura –su plano textual junto con los diferentes niveles de articulación (material-temático-argumental)– nos lleva a dos afirmaciones. Primero, que el “De Grammatico” presenta un impecable tratamiento lógico y lingüístico de las relaciones entre el lenguaje natural y el lenguaje filosófico realizando una reinterpretación del famoso primer capítulo de las Categorías aristotélicas. Segundo, que Anselmo avanza más allá del terreno lógico-lingüístico exigiendo una contextualización del mismo.
