Finally, it supports the view according to which there was a strategic plan drawn by the Minister and his Advisors so as to restructure the local economy. To these aims, this paper revolves around two hypotheses: the first one claims that the concerns over consumers education came as a response to the inflationary issue. The second one asserts that, in fact, there was a plan to redefine the Argentinian economy structure, and that such ideas had preceded the elaboration of the plan itself. It is essential, however, to identify the way in which this strategic perspective was translated into public policies. El presente trabajo indaga sobre las particularidades de la campaña de Orientación para el Consumidor (OPEC), iniciada en 1978, y su relación con los problemas económicos que atravesaba la Argentina por aquel entonces. En segundo término, sistematiza las principales políticas económicas aplicadas durante la gestión de Martínez de Hoz, en particular aquellas vinculadas al control de la inflación, contribuyendo al debate acerca de la existencia de un plan estratégico para reformular la estructura económica Argentina. Con ese propósito, el trabajo está organizado sobre dos hipótesis: la primera de ellas, afirma que las iniciativas destinadas a educar a los consumidores fueron un intento por aportar a solucionar el problema inflacionario.
