The review of research articles, chapters and papers shows that studies usually do not focus on teaching practices, learning processes or classroom interactions. Instead, they are about the evolution of the Language and Literature curriculum from a historicist approach or propose a theoretical framework for teaching a specific content. El artículo se propone presentar un estado de la cuestión sobre investigaciones desarrolladas en universidades argentinas acerca de la enseñanza de la asignatura de la escuela secundaria habitualmente denominada Lengua y Literatura. Para su elaboración, se han recolectado alrededor de ciento cincuenta trabajos académicos publicados en el período comprendido entre los años 2003 y 2017. Tras la exposición de la metodología seguida para la selección de los textos, se presentan los resultados, que se organizan a partir de los ejes temáticos que habitualmente estructuran el diseño curricular. La revisión de las publicaciones muestra que las investigaciones no se enfocan prioritariamente en las prácticas de enseñanza, en los procesos de aprendizaje o en las interacciones que tienen lugar en las aulas o lo hacen en una escala muy reducida.
