Se analizan las actividades de la Biblioteca Pública de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata tendientes a constituir un fondo significativo de diarios de interés histórico, publicados en nuestro país y en otras naciones latinoamericanas. Se señala que ese interés se mantuvo en forma permanente, con la adquisición y la preservación de diarios de circulación nacional y local, y con programas de microfilmación de periódicos.
