Referring to the Party of General Pueyrredón as an example, the article seeks to unravel the shortcomings of the statistics linked to this model and its main challenges, in the search of the lines of reflection about the necessary company to generate more and better statistical production. En el presente artículo proponemos abordar el campo estadístico de la política criminal, en general, y el de la seguridad pública, en particular. En este abordaje, nos centraremos en caracterizar la producción estadística ligada a un modelo preventivo securitario con lineamientos propios de la seguridad democrática que cobró fuerte impronta en la provincia de Buenos Aires a partir del año 2009. Haciendo referencia del Partido de General Pueyrredón como ejemplo, el artículo busca desentrañar las falencias de la estadística ligada a dicho modelo y sus principales desafíos, en la búsqueda de esbozar líneas de reflexión en torno a la necesaria empresa de generar más y mejor producción estadística. Neste artigo, propomos abordar o campo estatístico da política criminal, em geral, e da segurança pública, em particular. Nesta abordagem, focaremos na caracterização da produção estatística vinculada a um modelo de segurança preventiva com diretrizes específicas para a segurança democrática que tiveram um forte impacto na província de Buenos Aires a partir de 2009.
