This article discusses the workings of a forest co-management institution between the Innu Nation and the provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador based on two examples: the loss of a communal tent and the management of a forest infestation. These examples demonstrate different ideas of responsibility among the co-management process’ participants, showing its limitations.
