This article tries to summarize some epistemological and methodological considerations that we have clarified after researching phenomena associated with structural and armed violence in social exclusion and precariousness contexts. We have approached these phenomena from a constructivist paradigm, using various methodologies that are located within the qualitative methodological approach; therefore, our appreciations are based on these positions and specifically oriented to the development of knowledge on police violence in Caracas, Venezuela. In this way, we contextualize the use of qualitative concepts such as reflexivity, transparency and "giving voice" to others, amongst research on this topic. |

I28-R145-8390_oai2025-11-17 Pérez Mena, Daniel Sánchez, Francisco J. 2021-03-20 This article tries to summarize some epistemological and methodological considerations that we have clarified after researching phenomena associated with structural and armed violence in social exclusion and precariousness contexts. Assim, contextualizamos o uso de conceitos qualitativos tais como reflexividade, transparência e "dar voz ao outro", nas pesquisas relativas a estes fenómenos. application/pdf text/html https://revistascientificas.filo.uba.ar/index.php/runa/article/view/8390 10.34096/runa.v42i1.8390 spa Instituto de Ciencias Antropológicas, Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, UBA https://revistascientificas.filo.uba.ar/index.php/runa/article/view/8390/8791 https://revistascientificas.filo.uba.ar/index.php/runa/article/view/8390/8973 RUNA, archivo para las ciencias del hombre; Vol. 42 No. 1 (2021): Methodological issues, dilemmas and challenges in research on public security, violence(s) and activism; 139-157 RUNA, archivo para las ciencias del hombre; Vol. 42 Núm. 1 (2021): Cuestiones, dilemas y desafíos metodológicos en investigaciones sobre seguridad pública, violencia(s) y activismos; 139-157 RUNA, archivo para las ciencias del hombre; v. 42 n. 1 (2021): Questões metodológicas, dilemas e desafios na pesquisa sobre segurança pública, violência(s) e ativismos; 139-157 1851-9628 0325-1217 qualitative research police violence transparency reflexivity Venezuela investigación cualitativa violencia policial transparencia reflexividad Venezuela pesquisa qualitativa violência policial transparência reflexividade Venezuela “You have to interview him now because they’re going to kill him”: Police violence and qualitative research (Reflections from Caracas urban field) “Tienen que entrevistarlo ahorita porque lo van a matar”: Violencia policial e investigación cualitativa (Reflexiones desde el campo urbano en Caracas) "Têm que o entrevistar agora porque vão o matar": Violência policial e pesquisa qualitativa (Reflexões do campo urbano em Caracas) info:eu-repo/semantics/article info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion Artículo enviado a un dossier temático https://repositoriouba.sisbi.uba.ar/gsdl/cgi-bin/library.cgi?a=d&c=runa&d=8390_oai |
