I argue that the attention to the women on the railroad was associated to the fact that their inclusion was considered as a way to modernize the company. To achieve that, I analyse documentary sources and I also include the oral testimony of a "Trenes Banderas" hostess.   El presente artículo analiza cómo, durante los años 1969 y 1973, la empresa Ferrocarriles Argentinos hizo del trabajo femenino una imagen visible. Como parte de una política de cambio de imagen, durante dicho período, la empresa destinó notable atención a la promoción de dos sectores que se erigían como asidero de la modernización: las azafatas de los “Trenes Bandera” y las empleadas del flamante Centro de Cómputos. Se argumenta que la atención puesta hacia las mujeres en el ferrocarril estuvo asociada al hecho de que su inclusión fuera considerada modernizante.
