El estado actual de la Laguna de Fúquene es resultado de acciones antrópicas de modificación territorial derivadas de políticas y normativas para el desecamiento del sistema lacustre que fuesen, con el correr de las décadas, cambiando hacia la protección de los humedales y fuentes hídricas.
