This overview is based on a working hypothesis that allows us to describe the place of this glotopolitical archive in the present. This hypothesis postulates that these debates emerge from a historical form of language –known as “modern languages”– which can be described –among other features– as a politically constructed device for inclusion and exclusion. Este trabajo pretende ofrecer un repaso sintético por algunas zonas del archivo que delimitan los nombres del lunfardo y el cocoliche, para proponer una indagación de este a partir de los interrogantes y desafíos que en el presente deparan los debates y luchas en torno al género en el lenguaje.
