The analysis restores both the historicity of myth by analyzing its meaning and context of creation, and its effectiveness in the present. The main hypothesis of this paper is that myth not only operates by inflicting terror -a significant component previously addressed in other studies-, but it is also a long-range power initiative that is still prevailing in the territory. The methodology consists of an ethnographic research developed in the rural district of Santa Ana, located southwest of the Province of Tucumán, Argentina, from 2015 to 2018. Primary and secondary sources were analyzed to revisit the historicity of myth.
