La metodología se basó en análisis estadístico de fuentes oficiales secundarias multitemporales y técnicas de análisis espacial con teledetección y Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG). La movilidad interna permanente y creciente hacia Cancún, en tres décadas, pasó de apenas 30,000 habitantes a casi 400,000, lo que ha presionado la demanda de vivienda en más de 1,000%. Consecuencia del aumento poblacional, de forma sincrónica aparecen amenazas ante la insuficiencia de las políticas e instrumentos de planeación del Modelo de Desarrollo Urbano de Cancún. SUMMARY This article reflects on the demographic implications and the occupation of the urban space for home, from the inner mobility in the Mexican southeast that has as destiny the regional node Cancun, México. The methodology was based on statistical analysis of official secondary multitemporal sources and spatial analysis techniques with remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The increasing permanent inner mobility to Cancun, in three decades changed from 30 thousand of habitants to 400 thousand, forcing the demand of home in more than 1.000 %.
