In another way, understands that choice springs form a negative attitude: the humility of the chosen. And rejection, otherwise, has a lower reason: pride. His general scheme isn't supported by an understanding of distributive justice by worthiness, but on the benefit of the weaker, smaller, the abject. El texto discute la relación entre la elección (electio) y la justicia (iustitia) en Joaquín de Fiore (1135-1202). Buscaremos defender la siguiente tesis: aunque el abad presenta la solución agustiniana –aquella en donde la Gracia divina es la razón de la elección, y la justicia del rechazo–, con todo no asume íntegramente el legado de Agustín. Pues Joaquín considera que los resortes de elección forman una actitud negativa: la humildad del elegido. Y, por el contrario, el rechazo tiene una razón inferior: el orgullo.
