When compared with the classical notion of intentionality as defined by Brentano, the Aristotelian model shows both similarities and differences. The medieval scholastic model seems to be, because of a variety of reasons, in a middle term between both. Nuestro propósito es analizar algunas notas del modelo aristotélico de los fenómenos cognitivos, al sostener que puede ser considerado como un efectivo concepto intencional de la mente: (i) una estrucutra común o paralela para anlizar la percepción sensible y la cognición intelectual; (ii) la categorización de los asuntos mentales bajo la noción de familiaridad o relación; (iii) la caracterización ambigua de la cognición como una relación de identidad o semejanza entre quien conoce y lo conocido. Cuando se compara con la noción clásica de intencionalidad tal como la presenta Brentano, el modeo aristotélico presenta similitudes y diferencias.
