| Sumario: | The studies of Guaraní technology have focused mainly on pottery, disregarding other components of their material culture, such as lithics. However, recently there has been an increase in the systematic analysis of the latter. In this paper, we present the techno-morphological analysis of two lithic assemblages that are part of the Guaraní archaeological collections “Isla Martín García” and “La Correntina”. Results suggest that the lithic production was oriented towards obtaining bipolar flakes made from local rocks. Also, the identification of specific artifacts suggests activities related to the production of tembetás, wooden shafts, and grounded axes. |
