The analysis will focus on the premises of the narrations about the Brazilian musical past. The goal is to understand the position of the authors in relation to the musical experience in Brazil, their relationship with nationalism and their concepts about music. Finally, the analysis intends to motivate reflections about the methodology of current musical historiography. Este artículo efectúa un análisis de cuatro narraciones de la historia de la música brasileña, utilizando la tipología de constituciones de sentido de Jörn Rüsen. El análisis se centrará en descubrir las premisas de las narraciones sobre el pasado musical brasileño. El objetivo es comprender la posición de los autores con relación a la experiencia musical en el Brasil, sus compromisos con el nacionalismo y sus conceptos sobre música. Finalmente, el análisis pretende motivar reflexiones sobre la metodología de la historiografía musical de la actualidad. Este artigo efetua uma análise de quatro narrativas sobre a história da música brasileira, utilizando para isso a tipologia de constituições de sentido de Jörn Rüsen. A análise se concentrará em descortinar as premissas das narrativas sobre o passado musical brasileiro. O objetivo é compreender o posicionamento dos autores em relação à experiência musical no Brasil, seu envolvimento com o nacionalismo e seus conceitos sobre música.
