Sumario:The article analyzes the social representations on the household domain of inhabitants of a neighborhood of Quilmes Town, La Matera, which is the result of land occupation process. It is considered how the social meaning of the domain exceeds its juridical definition, being related to public policies memories, to moral categories about different household access modalities (occupation or informal purchase), as well as the definition which emphasizes the appropriation of the domestic space. Different symbolic operations are described, being them related to the housing trajectory. A qualitative methodology was employed, implementing semi-structured interviews.
