To that end, the author proposes the concepts of “social biography” and “personalized biography” of songs as constructed entities resulting from the relationship between those entities and the social subjects who consume them. Al pasar revista desde una posición crítica a la teoría adorniana del fetichismo musical, el presente artículo, siguiendo la propuesta de Arjun Appadurai para el estudio de los objetos, explora la posibilidad de desarrollar métodos de análisis de la producción de significados durante la etapa del consumo musical. Para ello se propone las nociones de “biografía social” y “biografía personalizada” de las canciones como entidades construidas mediante una relación intertextual entre éstas y los sujetos sociales que las consumen.   Ao rever com uma posição crítica a teoria adorniana do fetichismo musical, este artigo explora, de acordo com a proposta de Arjun Appadurai para o estudo dos objetos, a possibilidade de desenvolver métodos de análise da produção de significados durante a etapa de consumo musical.
