Thus, it has developed a critical and metatheatrical inquiry that highlights the following recurrent and ambiguous question: what is time in theatre? Trans avant-garde theatre seems to embody that “present nonexistence and ineluctable necessity” of Artaud’s theatrical legacy, in an attempt to locate itself at the limit of representation. Desde Beckett, en tanto autor bisagra entre la vanguardia y la transvanguardia, hasta el llamado teatro minimalista de las últimas décadas, el teatro pone en debate, por acción paródica, esa cualidad teatral de “Dios de la muerte” que rechazaba Artaud. Se convierte en indagación crítica y metateatral que parece poner en escena, en realidad, la recurrente y ambigua pregunta de qué es el tiempo en el teatro.
