To that end, the essay highlights the characteristics of the event’s origin, its founding relation with the Odin Teatret and the relation between the Odin Teatret and Latin-American groups, especially the Yuyachkani Cultural Group, from Peru, and the Contadores de Mentira, from Brazil. The essay approaches the event as a mythical event, analyzing how in its importance we might glimpse the tradition of those theatre groups that participated in the 1978 edition and see how the dialogues held in the encounters throughout these years have fostered a prolific production of knowledge and experiences concerning the theatrical practice.  Este ensayo recupera la memoria y dialoga sobre el XIII Encuentro Internacional de Teatro de Grupo Ayacucho. Para ello, señala las características de sus orígenes, su relación fundacional con el Odin Teatret y la relación de éste con grupos de Latinoamérica, de forma muy particular, con el Grupo Cultural Yuyachkani del Perú y con el Grupo Contadores de Mentira, de Brasil.
