They are confronted with outsider integration practices, population mobility, and taxation in order to glimpse their criteria and practices regarding their belonging to the community. In order to do so, first we synthesize the complex processes of destructuring and rearticulating that implied a violent subjugation of the indigenous societies in this region; that is their distribution in encomiendas, the resettlement of peoples or groups in their encomenderos’ properties, and/ or their reduction in Indian towns. It is assumed that the voluntary or forced mobility of the indigenous population and the subsequent recreation of community ties within the Indian towns fuelled antagonistic positions about their nature and rights. En este trabajo se analizan las posiciones de autoridades y vecinos sobre el estatus de los pueblos de indios de Córdoba y los criterios para definir quiénes eran miembros legítimos. Se confrontan con prácticas de integración de foráneos, movilidad de población y tributación a fin de entrever los criterios y prácticas de pertenencia a la comunidad. Primero, se sintetizan los complejos procesos de desestructuración y rearticulación que implicó el violento sometimiento de las sociedades indígenas de la Gobernación del Tucumán y la jurisdicción de Córdoba, en particular, tales como: su entrega en encomiendas, el reasentamiento de pueblos o grupos encomendados en las propiedades de sus encomenderos y/o su reducción en pueblos de indios. Se parte de la hipótesis que la movilidad voluntaria o forzada de la población indígena y la posterior recreación de vínculos comunitarios dentro de los pueblos de indios alimentaron posiciones antagónicas sobre su naturaleza y derechos. Este trabalho analisa as posições de autoridades e moradores em relação ao status das comunidades indígenas de Córdoba e os critérios utilizados para definir membros legítimos. Essas discussões são comparadas com práticas de integração de forasteiros, mobilidade populacional e tributação, a fim de obter uma visão mais aprofundada dos critérios e práticas de pertencimento comunitário. Primeiramente, resume os complexos processos de desestruturação e reestruturação envolvidos na subjugação violenta das sociedades indígenas na província de Tucumán e na jurisdição de Córdoba, especificamente, tais como: seu status de encomienda, o reassentamento de comunidades ou grupos afiliados à encomienda nas propriedades de seus encomenderos e/ou sua redução a aldeias indígenas.
