Despite the importance and novelty of the indexical analysis of actual world, this is not without objections that make difficult to sustain it. Throughout this paper we present several objections to the indexical analysis and we will argument that a descriptive analysis of “actual world” is adequate.  Este trabajo se propone revisar la postura que sostiene que “el mundo actual” es un indéxico que funciona como lo hacen “yo”, “ahora”, “aquí”, etc. Dicha postura es la sostenida por David Lewis (1970), para defender su realismo modal, es decir, la teoría de que existen mundos posibles que tienen el mismo estatus ontológico que el mundo en el que habitamos. A pesar de la importancia y novedad que tuvo el análisis indexical de mundo actual, este no está exento de objeciones que dificultan sostenerlo.
