It is interesting to question what is memory, clarify its formats, its remittance to a past, and it refracting a present.  Los usos de la memoria, siempre a partir de un determinado presente, explicado por coyunturas concretas y por relaciones de fuerza de los grupos en presencia, se cruzan con la falta de expectativas, que llevó a que se buscara en un tiempo pretérito lo que era seguro, con una visión deformante y simplificada. El impacto de los estudios sobre la memoria no es ajeno a un proceso de pregonado «fin de la historia», concomitante de la naturalización del capitalismo neoliberal y del impacto político-social de 1989, que convierte los futuros posibles en algo de intangible y nebuloso.
