| Sumario: | The research carried out emerges as an interdisciplinary need to address public policy on poverty reduction in Colombia during a particular moment and context in the history of Colombia.
In this exercise, the author links three theoretical currents for the interpretation of the situation of poverty: critical discourse studies, social representation theory, and approaches to the analysis of public policy related to the discursive turn, based on an analysis of the political discourse of President Juan Manuel Santos in the media during the period 2010-2014.
Methodologically, an interdisciplinary articulation between disciplines and multidisciplinary approaches is established, respecting the internal dynamics of each one, where concepts that allow a broader scope of analysis are articulated; that is, understanding the function that concepts have in the theory to which they belong and their possible function when linking them with others.
The analysis involves the challenges of triangulating theories and methods, which enrich the interpretations made.
The results identify the way in which the political media discourse as a sociodiscursive practice legitimizes the public policy of poverty reduction in Colombia and configures social representations that give way to sociocultural phenomena of concealment and naturalization, as well as sociopolitical phenomena of exclusion and inequality.
Research is a theoretical and methodological input for interdisciplinary research work where the triad of discourse, society, and cognition allows for a better interpretation of reality. |
