The scope of the ecclesiastical policies implemented by the Bourbons is studied, considering how they affected the dynamics of these ritual practices. In this sense, the so-called process of “Bourbon secularization” is explored from documentary sources in order to ask about the role of ritual in the processes of reformulation of “the religious” in different fields of social life. El presente trabajo se propone analizar la relación entre ritual y cambio social indagando en las transformaciones evidenciadas en los rituales de enterramiento y en las celebraciones religiosas del cabildo secular de la jurisdicción colonial de Jujuy a fines del siglo XVIII. Se explora el alcance de las políticas eclesiásticas implementadas por los Borbones considerando de qué manera afectaron la dinámica de estas prácticas rituales. En este sentido, se hace foco en el denominado proceso de “secularización borbónica” a partir del trabajo con fuentes documentales a fin de preguntarnos por el rol del ritual en los procesos de reformulación de lo religioso en diferentes campos de la vida social. O presente trabalho propõe analisar a relação entre ritual e a mudança social indagando nas transformações evidenciadas nos rituais de sepultamento e nas celebrações religiosas do conselho secular da jurisdição colonial de Jujuy de final do seculo XVIII. Explora-se o alcance das políticas eclesiásticas implementadas pelos Bourbons considerando de que forma afetaram a dinâmica destas práticas rituais.
