I28-R145-3214_oai2025-11-17 Cañete Mastrángelo, Daniela S. 2016-06-01 The aim of this paper is to present the information generated from the analysis of the lithic materials recovered in the archaeological concentrations called Punto 37 and Punto 96, which are located at the archaeological locality Punta Entrada (Santa Cruz, Argentina) to discuss the technological strategies used by past populations and to infer the decisions of the hunter-gatherers regarding the way lithic raw materials and artifacts were treated. This analysis shows that the sequence of lithic reduction was completed at both concentrations. The lithic artifacts show a tendency to an expedient strategy, as evidenced by the discard of large-sized cores, the predominant use of local raw material, the manufacture of low-energy cost tools and finally, the discard of tools with active edges and worn out instruments but with reactivation possibilities. This paper seeks to contribute to the study of Patagonian coastal occupations, which show highly variable characteristics along the space, such as the composition of lithic assemblage and the resources management. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es conocer y discutir las decisiones y estrategias tecnológicas seguidas en relación con el uso de las materias primas y el modo en que realizaron los instrumentos líticos los grupos cazadores-recolectores de la costa patagónica meridional durante el Holoceno tardío. Para ello se presentan los datos generados a partir del análisis del material lítico recuperado en las concentraciones arqueológicas denominadas Punto 37 y Punto 96 ubicadas en la localidad arqueológica Punta Entrada (Santa Cruz, Argentina). Los resultados muestran la realización de toda la secuencia de talla in-situ y una tendencia hacia la puesta en práctica de estrategias expeditivas, evidenciadas por el abandono de núcleos de gran tamaño, el uso de materias primas predominantemente locales, la confección de instrumentos de baja inversión energética y el abandono de instrumentos con filos activos e instrumentos con filos agotados pero con tamaños que permitían la reactivación de los mismos.
