Considering the success story in Israel due to the positive synergy between the consumption and treatment of wastewater, the management of these same waters in the province of San Juan was analyzed for the use of deserts with agricultural potential and an alternative was proposed  to improve the current situation by treating water through a mechanism similar to treatment plants that reduces the environmental impact in Israel. Other solutions with lower investment and for particular cases are also being analyzed. Este trabajo desarrolla el análisis del caso de Israel en el tratamiento de las aguas residuales, mostrando avances en el desarrollo de suelos desérticos para favorecer el mercado agrícola, obteniendo un beneficio al mercado interno logrando el abastecimiento de alimentos para la población de dicho país y aumentando sus ganancias debido a la mejora de las exportaciones en el rubro agrícola. Teniendo en cuenta el caso de éxito en Israel debido a la sinergia positiva entre el consumo y tratamiento de las aguas residuales, se analizó la gestión de estas mismas aguas en la provincia de San Juan para el aprovechamiento de los desiertos con potencial agrícola y se propuso una alternativa para mejorar la situación actual tratando el agua mediante un mecanismo similar a las plantas de tratamiento que disminuyen el impacto ambiental en Israel.
