We also identify the sources of instrumental power that the businessmen, grouped in this association, deployed to in­fluence the position of the National Executive Branch. For this, we focus on the political–institutional dimen­sion of organized business action and carry out a qualitative analysis based on a survey of journalistic sources, corporate documents and specialized bibliography on the subject during the period 2015-2017. This case study shows us that economic elites do not necessarily hold absolute power over the State –neither in the same way nor in the same areas over time– given that industrialists were not able to negotiate trade opening with govern­ment. En este trabajo analizamos el modo en que la Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA) construyó su po­sicionamiento político contra al reconocimiento de China como economía de mercado durante la gestión de Cambiemos. También identificamos las fuentes de poder instrumental que los empresarios, nucleados en dicha cámara, desplegaron para incidir sobre el posicionamiento del Poder Ejecutivo Nacional. Para esto nos con­centramos en la dimensión político-institucional de la acción empresarial organizada y realizamos un análisis cualitativo a partir del relevamiento de fuentes periodísticas, documentos corporativos y bibliografía especiali­zada en el tema durante el período 2015-2017.
