The factors that determined its growth and the way in which it was affected by the recession that began in 1926 and by the international crisis of 1929 are pointed out. La historiografía sobre la recesión de 1926 y la crisis de 1929 en México no ha prestado suficiente atención a la forma en la que afectó a los sectores ligados al mercado interno. Este trabajo es un acercamiento al desempeño económico de la industria cervecera entre 1926 y 1932, que fueron los años en los que ocurrieron estos fenómenos.
